Princess and the Pea

My little girl has her own bed! We are hoping that this is one that can last her through high school. Mckenzie calls this her princess fairy bed. She looks too little to be in it, but the crib thing just doesn't work anymore. Let's see if she will sleep in it tonight! The bottom two pictures are Mckenzie studying her book and her pretending to be asleep on the porch in my camp chair.

Complaining

Soooo I have been extremly hot today due to the fact that I have no air conditioning, I don't feel good-I am running a fever, my child has made me re-play "The Little Mermaid" one million times this week, and I didn't do the dishes today because I don't feel good! GRRRR!!!!!! Ok I'm done complaining, thats really all that is exciting in our life right now. This weekend we are hopefully getting Mckenzie's big girl day bed complete with Fairy accessories (I wonder where she gets this fairy thing from?) and grocery shopping, always an adventure.

My sister posted a movie quote on her page which I thought was fun so I'm going to put my favorite one on here and see if anyone knows it:

"Aren't you one of those guys? Those guy-guys, you know. You send them out into the jungle with a Q-tip and a swiss army knife and they build you a shopping mall!"

Happy Birthday to Grandpa

I am trying to redeem myself since I technically forgot that today was my Dad's birthday (I thought it was tommorow!) so Mckenzie and I made him a little video to show him that we love him. *Please note dad that she is wearing the t-shirt you got for her!

Trogdor lost his burninator*

Paul left for work today at 4am and around 5am I got a call from him saying that our car broke down in the middle of no where. For those that don't know, Paul now works in Driggs which is 40 minutes away from our house. So we had to call our friend to drive all the way out there to pick him up, and we called his dad from Pocatello to bring his truck so he could tow it back to Rexburg...well it took a little too long and the local Sherriff called a tow company because it was parked on the side of the road. So then we had to have Paul go out there with his relative to get the car from the tow company and tow it all the way back to Rexburg. To make matters worse, the tow cable broke part way but they managed to fix it...and drive very slowly! We got it to our mechanic and they luckily were able to fix it quickly and we were thankfully able to afford it, although it did cost quite a bit! Apparently the fuel pump went out and they had to replace it. And we had to walk a mile and a half in the blazing sun with our baby to go get it, can we say GOOD GRIEF?!?! Any way, all is well now, hopefully no more disasters will occur!

*Trogdor is the name of our car, it refers to the character on www.homestarrunner.com see strong bad emails and then Dragon, it's the coolest site ever!

ZOO

Mckenzie has been asking me all week if we can go see the kitty from the last zoo....well since that one was a litte too far away we went to the Idaho Falls zoo instead. We had a blast, she was so happy!

The otters were mommy's favorite
Monkies were an all around favorite.
With these monkies, Mckenzie kept asking "Want to take one?"

This is the friendly zoo keeper who had to give a zebra a giant vaccination (check out that tranquilizer!)
These are the unlucky zebras who ran from him
This is the curious lion who watched the zebras and offered to give the vaccination himself!
A happy Mckenzie with her monkey toy.

A very happy Mckenzie looking at the duckies.
Daddy rounding up the ducks.
The wonderful goats!

"Come here, kitty!"

Am I happy or sad??

So I read online tonight that the Twilight movie was being changed to release on November 21 instead of December 12, so I was way excited because that is sooner and the same day as the Harry Potter Movie....well turns out that the Harry Potter movie has been pushed back to open July 17th 2009!!!!! This is crazy! They claim they need more time on it because of writers strike and all that, but I think they just didn't want to compete with Twilight. So instead of two awesome movies this Christmas we only get one and have to wait another stinking 7 months for our Harry Potter. Can the wizards and vampires never live simultaneously??

New Background

Everyone who knows me well, knows that I love Fairies and everything related to fairy tales or fantasy stuff. So my sister, who knows this better than most, designed me this amazing new wallpaper background since my old one wasn't so great. What do you think? I personally love it. It's so funny because looking at my house and the way I decorate, I think I have kept the fairy tale theme going into my adult life. Many things in my house could fit nicely into this genre, but thats ok! I also realized this week the reason of why you have kids: So you can live vicariously through them! Mckenzie loves fairies and princesses as much as me, and this week we cracked out my old "Lady Lovely Locks" play sets. She thought these were the greatest things ever! Now that I have a little girl, I can play these things forever! Thats why you have kids!!!

Almost Unpacked

I am almost all done with unpacking. I still have to finish Mckenzie's room but hers won't be complete until we get her bed in a couple of weeks, and the bathroom. I seem to not even miss the painted walls in our last place, mainly because I just couldn't enjoy them there with all the stress, but this apartment is great! Well I am off to enjoy a lovely evening with my family watching Lord of the Rings and having ravioli and sparkling cider!

What do I do now?!?!?

Well I just finished Breaking Dawn about an hour ago and yes, like so many others, I am left breathless! It is so refreshing to have an author do exactly what you want and throw some insane surprises at you along the way! I can't type too much because I don't want to ruin it for everyone that hasn't read it, but good grief this book was amazing! I want to go just reread them all over again. And I know I'm probably going to get killed for this comment, but I actually think I like them better than Harry Potter. Don't get me wrong, Harry Potter is amazing and the two stories are so different that I don't think you can compare them- but Twilight has such real human emotions ( I know this is an ironic statement ) and so much depth to it, that you get something new out of it each time you read it. I could probably only read the last three harry potter books several times, but with Twilight I think I could read them once a month! The humor and emotions in these books take me back to when I was in high school and make me remember all the great times I have had in my life. Now I get to be excited for the movie coming out in a few months because it is the next thing that I have to really look forward to and go crazy about!!! GOOOO TWILIGHT!!!!!

New Apartment

Well we are all moved into our new place. It is so nice and we just love it here. Words cannot describe how good it feel to be out of that horrible hotel. Just for future reference, if anyone ever wants to come stay at a hotel in Rexburg, go to Super 8, don't stay at the Best Western or Days Inn! They are evil people, EVIL!!! Anyway, Mckenzie loves her room. We barely see her because she is in it playing and watching movies. Although we still have boxes in every room because we can't seem to pull ourselves away from Breaking Dawn the latest installment in the Twilight saga. It is the most amazing book ever! So my unpacking is being highly procrastinated and I have gone through 500 pages in a day and a half, still a couple hundred more to go!
